Iratxe Elorduy

Laboratory Technician

My work involves participating in various laboratory techniques, such as immunohistochemistry (IHC), cutting brain sections with the cryostat, preparing buffers, and performing image analysis, among others. I am in charge of placing the orders to ensure our laboratory has the necessary materials. Another important part of my job is teaching students the techniques established in our laboratory.

I studied a VET Superior Technician degree in Clinical and Biomedical Analysis at Zabalburu Ikastetxea (Bilbao, Spain), where I had my first contact with the laboratory. These studies motivated me to pursue a VET Superior Technician degree in Pathological Anatomy and Cytodiagnosis at Jesuitak Politeknikoa (Bilbao, Spain), completing my laboratory training. During the internship period, I met Mariana and realized how much I enjoy working in the lab. Before jumping into the lab, I also studied to be a Nurse Assistant.

In my free time, I love to travel and spend quality time with my family and friends. I also enjoy watching series and reading a good book.
